Kindling Words

I just got back from Kindling Words, which was wonderful. One of the very best things about it was getting to spend 3 mornings listening to Vera B. Williams talk about her work and her life.
She gave us an assignment to make a 4 or 8 page picture book. Below is one of mine. For some reason it came out to be 6 pages. Since it's a little hard to read, I'll type the text beneath each picture...

I wonder what it would be like to fly.

It's fun!

But it's a long way down. Uh oh.

I guess I am more of a land animal.

Hey Sarah,

I think that these little books are so inspiring. It's changed the way I approach a new book.I like that it captures the feeling so simply. You have such a simple way of doing that. I think you should post the other one too!!

Sarah,

Thanks for posting your little dummy book. It's a small treasure--and a wonderful reminder of our three magical mornings with Vera!

PS I agree with e! Please post the other, too!

These are all great! Maybe I'll consider attending Kindling next time it rolls around.
